I would love to start vending on the weekends for some spare change. I want to start out small to make sure I enjoy it rather than spend lots of money on a big trailer rig and find out I am no good at it.

any tips, links helpful ideas would be great.
I called the local health department and it seems I will only be able to do events. So I am thinking of doing some charity stuff for practice (church outing, local lodges etc).
I also would love to hook up with another caterer or vender to learn the ropes but I am unsure if they are willing to take and train competition.

MIGHT TRY VOLUNTEERING AS HELPER ON COMPETITION BBQ TEAM ..MANY TEAMS PRACTTICE SAFE FOOD HANDLING AND ARE USUALLY WILLING TO SHARE INFO WITH THEAM MEMBERS.. AS TO PREPERATION AND PROPER HANDLING THE REST IS EASY .. RECCOMEND YOU START WITH LOCAL ART SHOWS AND SMALL FESTIVALS UNTIL YOU DEVELOP FEEL FOR CROWDS AND PROPER PREPERATION.. POSSIBLY RENT A REFRIGERATED TRAILER AS STORAGE OF FOODSTUFFS DURING VENDING ETC ETC NO NEED TO BUILD A HUGE TRAILER (MANY DO) I'VE USED RENTED TENTS FOR 25YRS IN EVERY STATE OF THE UNION ..GOOD LUCK

love ya ...billy
