It has been requested that we do a little profile of our members.
Please include the following, if you don't mind?

Where are you from.
What do you do.
How long have you been cooking?
How old are you?
And anything else you wouldn't mind sharing.

Thanks to Big Orange Smoker for this suggestion!!

Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, but have not lived there in about 16 years, been in the Tampa, FL are since 2000.
I work as an Operations Manager for a large nationwide company and I am responsible for most of the west coast of Florida.
Got my first smoker to call my own in 1993, so I guess you can say that is when I "officially" started cooking.
I am 38, got a wife and two kids. Just started competing this year (Sebring was my first) after a while of talking about it, hanging out with those who were doing it, and making excuses as to why I had not done it yet. Goal is to do 4 or 5 contest this year and expand on that next year.

I'm 37 years old from Loxley, Alabama.
I've lived in South Alabama all of my life except for a little while in St. Croix, U.S.V.I.
I am the manager of an auto parts warehouse in Pensacola, Fl.
We are direct distributors for AC-Delco, Motorcraft, Denso and several others.
I've been cooking off and on for about 6 years but I got really serious about 3 years ago when I went with a friend to a competition that he had entered. We both knew nothing about competition BBQ, but we had as much fun as anyone there. I've been hooked since.

From Cherry Valley, Illinois. Now between Stoughton and Edgerton, Wisconsin by way of Des Moines, Iowa, and Chicagoland.

I'm a computer programmer/analyst. No, I can't help you with your PC.

Started cooking sporadically and grilling (my father finds it nearly impossible to grill something less than medium-well) in my early teens and graduated to full-time when I got my first apartment at 21. Smoking/barbecuing since the late 1990s.

I have a November birthday and turned 44 at the last one.

I like fast cars and faster women. But having been married for over 18 years I'm only allowed to play with the former now.

Born and raised in Evansville, Indiana and lived in and around withing 20 miles of the town all my life. Am now a retired paramedic/firefighter 59 years old and dabble with lawnmower repair, wood working and genealogy. I've also got a thing for WWII aircraft and have flown WWII fighter trainers. The T-bolt and parts for the Corsair were made in Evv during the war along with the LST.

I've been cooking since I was seven years old and studied BBQ under my step father and uncles on brick pits in the back yards. Started Q-ing on my own in high school. At the farm I had my own brick and block pits but since the wife and I moved back to town I use a CG/SFB. I don't compete but make a point to attend the local gigs such as the Owensboro competition, the WC Handy blues and bbq fest in Henderson and the Grill for the Thrill in Evansville.

Hmmmmm I noticed a trend. Everyone that commented about their spouse said how beautiful they are. You get 15 people in a room and not EVERYBODY's gonna have a great looking spouse. So we are above averages here, which leads me to the two follow possibilities:

A) Some of us have bad eyesight

or

B) BBQ makes one more attractive to the opposite s**

I'll go with B !!
