I'm from Texas Retired machinist, made everything from oil rig parts to space shuttle parts. Started cooking late in life around 30, old brinkman charcoal. Just got my 1st offset at the age of 62. Married to a wonderful lady, who just happens to be 22 years younger than I am I'm knew to about everything I read here. My life wasn't sheltered, just had little different interests for years.

Hey Porcine Princes and Princesses -
I'm Billy Bob Billy. I just retired from competition BBQ (2006 was the 25th anniversary with the Holy Smokers Too). I now spend my time teaching BBQ classes at contests and at the University of Tennessee. In November, I published my cookbook on cooking and contest participation.
I would appreciate input on types of information ya'll would like to see in BBQ classes and in future editions of my cookbook.

A LONG AND STORIED GROUP .. 'THE HOLY SMOKERS" THE BOOK WILL BE GREAT IF IT CAN RE-CREATE JUST A SMALL PORTION OF THE FUN THEY WERE KNOWN FOR AT COMPETITION .. OK BILLY TIME TO SPILL THOSE SECRETS ... LIKE WHO WAS MEAT SUPPLIER? DID JOHN WILLINGHAM REALLY TEACH YOU ALL HE KNEW? IS THE LYNCHBURG LEMONADE BETTER IN BATTLE ALLEY OR THE PEABODY ?

The book is dedicated to Louis Fineberg, so you can guess that we bought our pigs from Fineberg's packing. Tle last couple of years the pigs have come from Fayette packing since Finebergs no longer slaughters hogs and Fayette will deliver to the river.
I do have to thank Willingham for having the MIM championship rings designed so we could steal them away. Too bad he never won one!
Lastly, asanyone knows, libations are best enjoyed behind your own smoker with fellow BBQ'ers.

That's interesting when I hear Louis Fineburg I think of Larry from The Three Stooges.
PS: Hogs from Fineburg would be Kosher?

Hello All My name is Jeff i`m from Norfolk Nebraska. 44 years old, married with two step sons, ones married and blessed us with twin grad babies two years ago. The other boy has recently joined the army reserves, completed basic training and now finishing his senior year of high school. I was a member here a few years back but lost login info after a PC crash and have not tried to re-up my info till now. My former user name was mudman. I`m sure a lot of you`s don't remember me but anyway i`m back. I was brand spanking new to smoking meats and such back then(5-6 years ago). Got my start here so to speak learned a lot about bar-b-que and at other forums. Since then i bought a Diamond Plated Product Big 40 stick burner, a WSM and a few other cookers to play with. I have recently started a catering business(late last summer) have a few jobs under my belt and am learning a lot. I love to cook BBQ for anyone who will sit still long enough to enjoy it. I was searching for info on Vending and thought i`d stop by and re-new my info and say "HELLO"

Yes now i remember early in 2005 was when i built that rotisserie that didn't end up being mine(long story). Reading about the cookers that others owned and used here got me to thinking.... "I can build one kinda like that" 2006 was the PC crash i think... Sorry but i really cant tell you why i quit coming here.... but can i come back & play??? I`ll be a good boy. Promise....(fingers crossed hidden behind my back)
