Don't know when but would like to get up there this summer. Calendar's filling up quick - me and the grandson going to Indy week before Memorial Day, Ohio for Father's Day, Taylorville, IL to O'Fallon, IL to St. Louis just after 4th of July, North Carolina in August, wanna try for another Ohio early September and back to Indy 2nd weekend of October, + we make a monthly trip to Springfield / Taylorville, IL.
Thought I saw something a while back about taking this Trout Derby / BBQ Comp on the road to Florida in November. Planning to be down there November 3 - 10. Want to go to the bend area - Mexico Beach to Appalachicola to Cedar Key. Wife likes Madierra Beach area. Nothing for us to start one place in Florida and see half the state before we're done.
Walleye Tourney - now that's some good eating fish. Never forget first time seeing them lined up elbow to elbow in the Maumee River on opening day when I lived in Toledo. Next door neighbor was a charter captain. Always had a good supply of walleye.

MAUMEE RIVER, TOLEDO, OHIO .. GREAT TRADITIONS AND GOOD REASON ..PLENTY OF SPRING RUN WALLEYE... TO BRING TO THE TABLE.. HAD A DISCUSSION WITH RESTAURANT OWNER ADVERTISING WALLEYE ON HIS MENU FOR CHEAPER THAN WHOLESALE. HE ACTUALLY USES ANOTHER FISH .ALASKIN POLLACK. I ASKED HIM WHY HE WAS MISLEADING HIS CUSTOMERS. AND DID ANYONE COMPLAIN.. HE REPLIED .MY DISTRIBUTOR SAID "EVERYONE DOING IT" . NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.. HEARD SIMILAR FROM FELLOW COMPETITOR IN NAPERVILLE, IL. SHOW. 1996 .SELLING LARGE "LOIN BACK RIBS" AS "BABY BACK". WE SHOULD NOT WONDER WHY THE NATION IS BECOMING PERCIEVED AS DISHONEST, AND ILL EDUCATED.. FOR OUR OWN GOOD LETS BE MORE DEMANDING IN QUALITY AND ADVERTISING IT CAN ONLY HELP AMERICAN JOBS.. P.S. THE "ALSAKAN POLLAK" HAS A JAPANEESE LABEL ..

locate billy in Red Keg, michigan - half way between Paradise and Hell

No labels on the fish I was getting in Toledo. I was seeing walleye coming out of the well or cooler. Know there's a lot of substitution with fish and seafood. Goes back to knowing and trusting your source. With bad publicity and more going to sustainable fisheries hopefully this will become less of a problem.
