I saw a post on another forum that the NBBQN Festival isn't going to happen. Is this just a 1 year hiatus due to economic factors or a permanent thing? Would saying having FBA/KCBS sanctioning help w/ them doing alot of the daily grind to put the contest on? I hate to see this go away as I was really looking forward to going back

One of the top contests in the country, I hate to see it go. It is and has been a contest I always look forward to. It's always had a huge payout...if it helps cut that way back to a manageable amount and go forward. Teams will still come.

That what I understand. I sure will miss this event. I have been thinking about this for a few days, since I got the email from Ms Carlene n Kell.

I know we only saw you guys once a year, but it's like seeing my family for a reunion. I think about all the Great folks We've met over the last 4 years. It's been a great run. I just wish someone would step up to the plate, like the city of Waycross or Douglas GA.

I know from running our event www.sebbq.com that it takes a lot out of you, and our event isn't 10% the size of Waycross. But I could not have done it without Ms Carlene, Papa Joe, Kell, Rocky and the whole crew that travels with them to events.

They have watched over me for years, guided me and lessoned me the how and how not to run a great event. For that I Thank Them All

I know that they will be at our 5th event this year again.

But we know we want to come south and see Y'all again someday, SOON we hope.

We look at it this way "Your all our friends, we just haven't met some yet.
