Grill out went good today. Predictions on quantities was pretty close. Very satisfied overall.

Working on final plans for this weekend's gig. Crazycarl's BBQ Smoked Brisket and pulled pork sandwiches. Weather is supposed to be awesome and actually cool a bit for Saturday. Hope that brings out more people. Looking for a good gig.

I am bored and seem to be talking to myself on here? Where's the people? Oh well, Love ya all!

BRING ON THE CONVERSATION AND I PROMISE TO READ AND GET BACK IF I FEEL I MIGHT BE ABLE CONTRIBUTE A BIT TO YOUR FUN AND ENJOYMENT TO THIS SPORT OF BARBECUE ..SINCERELY NOTHING SO SATISFYING AS HAVING THE PUBLIC APPROVAL OF YOUR PRODUCTS.. I STILL LOVE THE HUGS AND PICTURES. CORNY THO MANY ARE ITS THE BEST HIGH I'V EVER EXPERIENCED . DO YOUR BEST AND I AM SURE THE FOLKS OF BRANDON WILL BE TALKING ABOUT THE FINE PRODUCT YOU SERVED LONG AFTER BRANDON DAYS ARE FORGOTTEN .. SINCERELY

I just got done pulling the pork and its awesome as ussual. Waiting for the brisket to get done. BBQ up here presents it's own challenges such as they won't buy bbq with alot of bite. The younger crowd loves it with "kick" but the older crowd will hand it back for a refund. Makes it kinda interesting preparing for events and all. Thanks for your post. And thanks for keeping this site alive. I have been coming back here after years of inactivity on posting. Its great to see how solid it still is!
One thing is sure, I will keep on making smokers and keep on smoking, and keep on searching multiple sites for info and news to stay up to speed with the rest of the nation. 2 weeks from now, I will be getting back into the competition cooking with a KCBS event in Marshall, MN. Thanks to all!

Well the brisket turned out pretty well. I had 3- 17 lb brisket (plus 4 pork) and I let them go 15 hours on the smoker. Normally I do a 13 lb in 12 hours so about normal. I pulled them instead of my usual slicing. They fell right apart. Pretty sure I paid for more fat on these than I normally get but oh well.
I'm a lil tired since it was 6:30 this morning when I pulled them...
I ran down to the park and set up my tent and tables, signs etc. this morning. Event starts at 3pm. The other venors were asking me to show up by 12 with the food cause theyre starving..lol.
Gonna be a fun day in the park. Maybe a lil nap here before we go back down?..

Fired up the Stretch and smoked a pork loin seasoned with blackened fish seasoning! It turned out great with a nice bronze color. Very tasty, not hot just flavored and moist.

Brandon Hometown Days event went well. This ol boy is tired. Been getting stuff cleaned, re-organized, re-stocked, and put away. I have a wedding this next weekend and then who knows where I'm going after that. I put the smoker away for the week (hopefully) and am looking forward to taking the next steps needed to go cooking and catering full time. This working 2 jobs is wearing on me...
