Doubt it was made by hippies...as it comes from Mexico. Just picked up a bag today from a local supermarket. Anybody ever heard of/used it

MANY COMPANIES FIND THAT LABELING FOR COUNTIES OUTSIDE OF U.S. ARE MUCH MORE LAX IN LABELING AND SEEMS OUR GOV'S DEPARTMENTS RESPONSIBLE FOR LABEL CREDIBILITY ARE PRETTY LAX WITH FOREIGN GOODS COMING TO THE STATES.THUS YOU GET "WOODSTOCK" CHARCOAL. MAY HAVE COME FROM ACACIA TREES IN AFRICA BEFORE GOING TO SOUTH AMERICA TO BE SHIPPED HERE UNDER SOME OTHER COUNTRIES TRADE AGREEMENT. PROBABLY SEEMS AS IF I MAKE TOO MUCH OF SIMPLE QUESTION . BUT HAVE ADOPTED A POLICY OF IF I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE DESCRIPTIVE LANGUAGE , I JUST DON'T BUY IT.. SEARCH OUT AN ESTABLISHED BRAND AND LET THE NEW LABEL COME UP TO "YOUR" STANDARDS.. BUYING CHEAP IS REASON MANY HAVE HAD DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE WITH "DANISH RIBS" EVEN THO PRICE WAS $.99 PER LB .. YIKES

I bought a Mexican lump charcoal just to try a couple weeks ago. Generic brown bag - only markings are -
HARDWOOD LUMP CHARCOAL Product of Mexico
+ The standard D.O.T. warning about combustibililty and not to use indoors.
Lump sizes are decent - some small in bootom of bag - probably from being in transit. Have only burned a small quantity and it burned pretty good - comparable to Royal Oak. Price was right - $9.99 for a 20 lb. bag.
