Smok’n Pig shirts featured in Footloose

When Footloose costume designer Laura Jean Shannon went looking for BBQ shirts to feature in the 2011 blockbuster, she couldn’t find any in the Atlanta, GA, area where the movie was filmed with enough character to pop off the screen. Valdosta, Georgia’s Smok’n Pig heard about the dilemma and sent samples of their T-shirts up to Atlanta for Laura to review. The rest is cinema history.
Two of Smok’n Pig’s shirts are featured in the film and one is even pictured on the film’s poster, Pig’s “No Wake Zone” shirt design. Thousands of BBQ lovers who have visited Smok’n Pig for their delectable que have walked out the door not only with satisfied appetites, but also with one of their awesome T-shirts. It’s an honor for Smok’n Pig to be a part of such a blockbuster cinematic hit.
Footloose opened in theaters October 14, 2011, and stars Kenny Warmold as city kid Ren MacCormack who moves to a small town where rock ‘n’ roll and dancing have been banned. His rebellious spirit shakes up the populance and catches the attention of Ariel Moore, played by Julianne Hough, as well as her father, Rev. Shaw Moore, played by Dennis Quaid.
