Southern Soul Barbeque to appear on The Food Network’s ‘Diners, Drive Ins, & Dives’

SAINT SIMMONS ISLAND, Ga., March 3, 2010 — The last week of February 2010, Food Network’s highest rated cable television show “Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives” shot over 30 hours of tape of the award-winning South Georgia BBQ joint, Southern Soul Barbeque to be included in an upcoming episode which will air nationally around the end of April or early May 2010.
DD&D host Guy Fieri is a television personality, seasoned BBQ competitor on the KCBS circuit, as well as proprietor of Tex Wasabi’s, a smoke joint based in northern California, and believe me the man knows his ‘Cue. Guy frequently called out during the shoot the fact that SSBBQ’s smoked pulled pork ranked in his all-time top 10.

Harrison Sapp and Griffin Bufkin are the proprietors of Southern Soul Barbeque, a real deal southern smoke joint based on Saint Simons Island, Ga. With a combined total of 40 years in the local island food/hospitality business, these boys practice their deep appreciation of the traditional craft of slow, hardwood smoking meat while showcasing their own unique southern personalities to the burgeoning national media focus on the BBQ scene. While running a full time restaurant and catering operation to festival vending and participating in regional competitions on the FBA circuit, SSBBQ has made quite a name for themselves in a very short time. Their highly anticipated upcoming appearance on The Food Network’s Triple D is just another step in their continuing process of spreading the Southern Soul buzz.
