We left the grill running hot to make sure we put a good seasoning on it while trimming up our ribeye with the boning knife on the disposable cutting boards. Everything worked exactly like the last competition we cooked in…and took home an eighth place finish.

The compact grill really got our attention on how it could produce enough heat to sear a competition-style steak. The grill itself has a built-in fan that makes sure the small amount of charcoal…8 briquettes for us…was plenty to do a perfect sear on the steak by using the steak/burger press and griddle grate that comes with the package.
